Dear friend,
The situation in eastern D R Congo is deeply tragic. Caught in the middle of the fighting between government forces and rebel troops are many tens of thousands of ordinary people.
A quarter of a million have fled from their villages in the last few months alone – meaning as many as a million men, women and children are now displaced in the region. There are reports of rape, abduction and children being forced to fight. Malnutrition and disease on a mass scale are a real concern.
These people need help now. They need food, medicine, blankets and shelter. They need to know people care. They need hope again.
Through trusted partners, BMS World Mission has already given a relief grant of £16,000 – but we want to be in the position to help again.
